However, the cold, rainy conditions did not prevent many CGS runners from improving on their Round 1 efforts, both in placing and on times.
The Juniors were again led by Sam Cooke, who was outstanding in 6th position - his best ever result. Tom Li, Hanson Wong and Justin Verrocchi also ran well. Strong improvers on the day were Tom Neal-Williams and David Liu, who battled hard in the tough conditions.
In the Intermediate race, Cameron Wynn again led the team home, well supported by Bill Connor, Doug Brown and James Majer, who looked great on debut. Konrad Biernacki and Andrew Richards also battled hard, Andrew clearly aided by his superior running gear.
The Senior team went without captain Dustin Biernacki and the 6.3km course proved particularly difficult for many, but Julian Lim (20th) and Ben Collins (32nd) led by example, posting solid times. Daniel Gray and Ashutosh Ghosh also ran well, with Tim Shue rounding the 5th team member home as he returned from time on the barricade. Phillip Tai and Hugh Banfield also offered great support in 6th and 7th places for CGS.
